Export Packing of High-Precision LAB Material Fixtures for Capgemini

Export Packing of High-Precision LAB Material Fixtures for Capgemini

Client: Capgemini
Project: Export Packing of LAB Material Fixtures
Highlight: Secure packing and export of 11 high-precision and high-value LAB material fixtures

Background

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology services, and digital transformation, entrusted us with the critical task of packing and preparing 11 high-precision and high-value LAB material fixtures for export. These fixtures, essential for the company’s operations, required an advanced and robust packing solution to ensure they would withstand the rigors of international transport and arrive at their destination in pristine condition. The challenge was to create a packing system that provided maximum protection against potential risks such as static, corrosion, physical damage, and environmental factors.

Key Challenges

  1. High-Value and High-Precision Items: The LAB material fixtures were of significant value and extremely delicate, requiring careful handling and packing to prevent damage during transit.
  2. Multi-Layered Packing Requirements: Given the high value and precision of the items, a sophisticated, multi-layered packing system was necessary to protect against various risks, including static electricity, corrosion, and physical impact.
  3. International Shipping Standards: The packing needed to comply with international shipping standards and regulations to ensure smooth customs clearance and safe transport to the final destination.

ACMP’s Solution

To address the challenges and ensure the safe export of Capgemini’s LAB material fixtures, we developed a detailed, multi-layered packing strategy. This approach was designed to offer maximum protection through the use of specialized materials and techniques, while also ensuring compliance with international shipping requirements.

  1. Anti-Static Protection: The first layer of protection involved wrapping each fixture in an anti-static air bubble. This layer was crucial in preventing static electricity build-up, which could potentially damage the sensitive electronics within the LAB fixtures.
  2. Shock Absorption: The second layer consisted of PEU foam sheets, which provided an additional cushion to absorb any shocks or vibrations during transport.
  3. Corrosion Prevention: A VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) layer was applied to protect the fixtures from any potential corrosion, particularly during sea transport where exposure to moisture could be a risk.
  4. Environmental Shielding: An aluminum foil layer was used to create a barrier against moisture, dust, and other environmental contaminants. This was followed by encasing the fixtures in a pinewood box with an inner lining of tarpaulin base for added durability and protection.
  5. Final Protective Layers: The pinewood box was then wrapped in an anti-static stretch film lamination layer and a double layer of corrugated ply to further protect against physical impact. The entire assembly was finally placed on a wooden pallet for ease of handling and transport.

Outcome

The project was successfully executed, with all 11 LAB material fixtures securely packed and shipped to their international destination without any damage. Our multi-layered packing solution provided the necessary protection against static, corrosion, and physical impact, ensuring the fixtures arrived in perfect condition.

Capgemini was highly satisfied with our comprehensive packing approach, which not only safeguarded their high-value equipment but also met all international shipping standards. This project exemplifies our commitment to providing safety, reliability, and protective packing solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

Our work with Capgemini stands as a testament to our capability in handling complex and delicate export packing projects, ensuring that valuable assets are transported with the highest level of care and precision.
